If you would like the opportunity to eat healthier, learn about farming, pick your own fresh vegetables from the farm, and enjoy the interaction with the outdoors and other people then you may be interested in volunteering on our farm.
Millican Farms will be offering a volunteer program this fall CSA season. We are looking for individuals to devote their time to farming a few hours a week. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work one morning a week (~3 hours) and in return receive a weekly HALF SHARE (valued at $20.00) loaded with farm fresh veggies that you harvested. Additionally, you will have the same benefits as our members with the capabilities of logging on to the web site and purchasing other items such as meat, dairy, eggs and preserved items. We ask that our volunteers commit to at least twelve weeks. Time and effort is put into training everyone and we feel that you will learn more with at least a twelve week commitment. Volunteers can look forward to harvesting vegetables, packing CSA boxes, pulling lots of weeds, spreading compost, pruning plants, watering, transplanting, in addition to much more. Ninety percent of the work is done outdoors. Often times it is hot, cold, or windy. Unfortunately this is what farming is all about, so please consider all of this before committing to volunteering at Millican Farms. Extreme weather conditions are always taken into consideration.
Volunteering will begin mid October in the mornings beginning around 8:00 a.m. one day a week. Very seldom will we work longer that 3 hours, but if we are in the middle of a project it could be possible. Millican Farms has a limited number of spaces available for volunteer positions so please don’t delay and sign up today by filling out the form below:
